Driver Spotlight: Bryan (Miami, FL)

Meet Bryan, AKA ‘Ultimate Delivery Man', AKA 'UDM,' a DeliverThat driver based in Miami, Florida, who also runs a successful YouTube channel under the handle @UDMDelivers. As a "gig-tuber," Bryan's job is to try new platforms and inform his followers on how they stack up against the rest. After getting a recommendation from one of his followers, Bryan decided to try DeliverThat. Bryan attended one of our stops during our Florida Tour of 2021, where DeliverThat employees and executives met and talked with current and prospective drivers. After a lengthy conversation with our Vice President of Operations, Christian, Bryan saw the opportunity before him and joined Driver Nation.

Before getting into the gig economy, Bryan worked in the school system, where he cared for children with behavioral issues. He also worked with residents in a group home setting. When Bryan found out he had a child on the way, he regrettably knew he needed to change from his current career path. Needing more income than he was currently receiving, Bryan, like many, turned to the gig economy. He started driving for some on-demand platforms and eventually made more money than in his previous job. Bryan felt he needed to show people what was possible with the gig economy, which led him to start the @UDMDelivers YouTube channel.

Through his YouTube channel, Bryan has created a community of drivers who share information about different gig platforms. His channel has become a go-to source for drivers seeking information on these platforms. "The channel started with daily vlogs of updated information on the apps I was working. Going back to my past jobs, I always felt it was my responsibility to bring good energy and helpful information to the drivers watching the videos. I would start my morning vlogs with a 'good morning' song I made up. Everything was about putting out videos with good vibes and a sense of community," Bryan said. He added that he spent hours watching and studying the top Youtubers and learned how to grow his channel. Bryan has continued to prove some naysayers wrong and has grown his channel to over 14.5K subscribers.

When asked what makes DeliverThat stand out from other companies he has worked with, Bryan highlighted the platform's driver focus. "DeliverThat offers drivers more money for their time and fewer miles on the road. As a result, I'm reducing costs while expanding my income. I also enjoy having the peace of mind of knowing I am delivering to business professionals with catering-style meals. On other platforms, you might have to deliver to some areas you would rather avoid," he said.

A veteran of almost every platform available, Bryan had some key advice when asked about optimizing the DeliverThat platform. "Know you're going to have to compete," he said. "You are competing with the other drivers in the area to accept new offers. This means you have to put yourself in the best position to win. Phone speed and internet connectivity make all the difference. I advise investing in yourself and your business as an independent contractor and upgrading to higher-speed devices", Bryan added.

We thank Bryan for taking the time to be highlighted in our Driver Spotlight series this week! He is always a pleasure to work with, and his personality is infectious. Check out his Youtube channel today! Thanks again, and keep #DeliveringMore, UDM!
