Driver Spotlight: Shelvin R. - Father's Day

Meet Shelvin R, a DeliverThat driver from Charlotte, North Carolina. Shelvin has been driving with DeliverThat for some time now, and he has certainly made a name for himself within the company. Starting with DeliverThat in December of 2021, Shelvin has successfully completed 1,300 deliveries on the platform with a total food cost of just under $400,000. He has lived in Charlotte for 24 years and has been a dedicated DeliverThat driver, making it his main gig app.

Before working as a DeliverThat driver, Shelvin owned his own psychiatric practice, as well as being a real estate broker. “When I’m not driving, I enjoy working out at the gym, watching movies, going hiking, swimming, and grilling for my family”, said Shelvin.

Shelvin discovered DeliverThat through a Google ad. “I was curious about the opportunity to earn money as a delivery driver and decided to give it a shot. My first delivery was a success, and I have been driving with DeliverThat ever since”, he said.

When asked about the benefits of being a gig driver, Shelvin highlighted the opportunity to be his own boss. “The flexibility of gig work allows me to create my own schedule and work at my own pace, which is important to me. You all see it, I take as many deliveries as I can almost every day,” Shelvin added.

DeliverThat is a company that truly cares about its drivers and provides them with the necessary tools and resources to succeed. Shelvin appreciates working for a company that invests in its drivers and cares about their well-being. “You can tell right away that this company is different. DeliverThat empowers its drivers to be self-sufficient and make livable money. And every step of the way, there is a live agent waiting to assist us whenever needed. It's a company that invests into its drivers and truly cares about what's happening in Deliverthat drivers outside the environment”.

When asked, the veteran driver had some key advice for drivers new to the DeliverThat platform. “Be on time and ready to go for every delivery. It not only shows you care, but it allows more time for other deliveries. It’s all about maximizing your day”, Shelvin advised. Additionally, the DeliverThat veteran recommended every driver purchase a cart for the deliveries. He added it was all about saving yourself the struggle and making deliveries more efficient.

We thank Shelvin for taking the time to share his story and advice to Driver Nation! He truly is a rockstar and a professional through and through. Keep #DeliveringMore, Shelvin!
